New Hyundai Tucson Spotted on the Road: A Revolution in Design and Technology

South Korean automotive giant Hyundai’s globally and domestically successful popular SUV model, the Tucson, has been spotted for the first time during test drives with its refreshed face. Heavily camouflaged prototypes signal a farewell to the current generation's curved lines in favor of a much straighter, larger, and more angular design language reminiscent of its older sibling, the Santa Fe, and current Kia models. A flat hood structure, a wide front grille, and simplified side profiles stand out as the most prominent changes in the vehicle's exterior design. At the rear, relocating the license plate recess from the tailgate to the bumper gives the vehicle a more modern and minimalist stance.

Inside the cabin, a completely digitized, innovative cockpit layout that does not compromise on ergonomics welcomes car enthusiasts. Set to be among the first models to use the new Android Automotive-based Pleos OS operating system, the new Tucson is preparing to offer drivers massive infotainment screens ranging from 12.9 to 14.6 inches. Meanwhile, a major transformation is also taking place under the hood; bidding farewell to traditional diesel engines, Hyundai is focusing on fully electrified powertrain blocks in the new generation. Alongside a full hybrid (HEV) option producing approximately 231 horsepower, an advanced plug-in hybrid (PHEV) architecture capable of offering a pure electric range of up to 100 kilometers stands out among the new model's ambitious features.
